DENACOL EX-622 (sorbitol polyglycidyl ether) is a bio-based tetrafunctional epoxy that provides high crosslinking density and fast curing speeds to coatings and adhesives formulations. It is a versatile aliphatic epoxy that imparts exceptional resistance to water stains, weathering, and mechanical wear, and can be reacted with standard epoxy curing agents (e.g., amines), carboxyl-functional acrylic resins, and specialty curing agents for non-isocyanate (NISO) systems.
Used as a reactive tetrafunctional epoxy in paint and coating formulations (vehicles, infrastructure, exterior, flooring, tub & tile, spray), providing fast curing and improved stain/weather resistance used in adhesives (including automotive adhesives and surface preparation for fiber) applicable in NISO (non-isocyanate) curing systems and with carboxyl-functional acrylic resins.
Delivers fast cure and high crosslink density for durable, weather- and stain-resistant coatings and strong adhesives; compatible with standard epoxy curing agents and carboxyl-functional acrylic resins; bio-based content option (15%); supplied in industrial 220-kg drums for manufacturing convenience.
Provides high crosslink density and fast curing (improves cure speed and network tightness); improves resistance to water staining, weathering and mechanical wear; epoxy equivalent weight ~191 g/eq and viscosity ~11,800 mPa·s enabling predictable formulation; insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents; flash point 161°C and bio-based content ~15%.
